In a dynamic urban region like the San Francisco Bay Area that values and encourages exploration in all its forms, it seems odd that while there are many top notch practitioners in a variety of esoteric disciplines, there is very little in the way of training in those disciplines.
In order to address a very real need, Tarot Media Company, partnering with the Mission Alchemy Event Space, has committed itself to offering top-notch classes and events with Tarot and divination themes.
Starting this July we have developed a strong lineup of Tarot classes and workshops that we hope will create a sort of ongoing “Academy of Divinatory Arts.” Anastasia continues to offer her series “Tarot Journeys” and “Getting Real with the Tarot,” and Thalassa has kicked off a monthly series, “Wide Wonderful World of Tarot,” in addition to monthly intensives on a variety of Tarot themed topics.
We also anticipate guest teachers and teleseminars adding to the mix of what’s available over the months to come.
Additionally TMC continues its long-standing collaboration with, and support of, the San Francisco Bay Area Tarot Symposium (SF BATS) which will take place on August 17-18 at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose. More information can obtained at www.dodivination.com.
In September we will present the first event of its kind, Oracularpalooza, which – conducted by Thalassa – will bring together a wide variety of divinatory tools and systems for an exciting afternoon of exploration, information exchange, learning and fun.
In the Mission Alchemy Event Space we also offer monthly “WooFests,” a new, fun and different sort of divination event, which features a brief talk, social activities, readings, refreshments and shopping. Each month has a different theme: July offers a Woo Beach Party, August is an end-of-summer WooFiesta, September is a WooFest celebration of Harvest, October will feature a Dia de los Muertos WooFiesta and the last WooFest of the Year will be November’s Holiday Celebration and Yuletide Marketplace.
